Deepcoin lets you set a spot limit price and track the resulting fills

Deepcoin supports spot limit orders with a chosen price and quantity, then records their execution in order and trading records. Select the spot pair, choose Buy or Sell, and enter the limit price and amount. Submission alone does not confirm a purchase or sale. Check the order status and accumulated filled quantity to establish how much actually traded.

The first order involves separate decisions about acceptable price, quantity, and any unfilled remainder. Keep those decisions separate: changing a price changes the instruction, while canceling a pending remainder leaves completed trades intact.

A limit order controls acceptable execution prices, while its accumulated fills show how much of the requested trade actually happened.

Spot pair, direction, and order settings

The spot order form connects your selected pair, Buy or Sell direction, limit price, and quantity to one trading instruction. Start with the available spot balance. Money elsewhere in the account may require an internal transfer before it becomes available for this order. The pair identifies the asset you trade and the asset used to quote its price. Confirm both names before entering an amount.

A buy requires sufficient available quote currency; a sell requires the asset you intend to sell. Select Limit for this task. A conditional order adds a trigger requirement, while a market order seeks available execution without your chosen limit price. Those settings change when or how the exchange attempts a trade. They are not interchangeable ways to submit the same instruction.

The selected market also determines valid price and quantity increments. Product information distinguishes price precision, size precision, minimum order size, and maximum limit-order size. Use the requirements for that spot market rather than copying settings from another pair. A quantity can satisfy the minimum yet still violate the permitted increment. Check these requirements before submitting, especially when manually entering decimal places.

The price boundary before submission

A buy limit sets the highest acceptable execution price, while a sell limit sets the lowest. An ordinary limit order can execute immediately when matching orders offer an acceptable price. Otherwise, some or all of its quantity can remain pending. The limit controls execution price; it does not establish a completion time. A chart touching your price also does not prove your particular order traded.

Which record confirms that my limit order filled?

Your order's status and accumulated filled quantity establish its progress, while the associated trade records identify individual executions. Match the selected spot market and order identifier before interpreting those records. An order acknowledgment confirms submission; a fill record confirms a trade. The public stream of recent market trades does not identify your account's purchases or sales.

Order totals and individual executions

The order record separates requested size, accumulated fill size, latest fill size, and average fill price. Accumulated fill size records the total quantity executed for an order. A latest-fill value describes only the most recent execution. Reading that value as the total can make a completed order appear incomplete or understate a partial purchase.

Quantity reconciliation

Compare accumulated fills with the original requested quantity. Partial execution leaves a remainder unless cancellation or another terminal outcome ends the instruction. Several executions can belong to one order, so several trade rows do not automatically mean several submissions.

Execution price and fees

Trade details connect each execution's quantity and price with an order identifier. They also record the trading fee and its currency. Keep those fees separate when reconciling execution value with balance changes. The order's average execution price summarizes its fills; the entered limit remains the price boundary.

A first purchase with an incomplete fill

Keeping the original price and canceling the remainder are different responses to an incomplete first purchase. In this hypothetical example, the selected spot market permits trading, the account has sufficient available funds, and the entered price and quantity satisfy its requirements. Let Q represent the requested quantity and P the chosen maximum purchase price. These are illustrative variables, not suggested amounts or market settings.

The reader selects the intended spot pair, chooses Buy and Limit, enters P and Q, and submits once. The resulting order identifier connects the instruction to its later records. The immediate task is to establish whether the exchange accepted the order and how much it executed.

If matching sell orders supply all Q at P or lower, the purchase fills completely. The order reaches filled status, and accumulated fills equal Q. The individual trade records establish execution prices and fees. The purchase instruction has finished; there is no unfilled quantity left to cancel.

A first purchase with an incomplete fill: If matching sell orders instead supply only F, where F is greater than zero and less than Q, the purchase fills partially. Accumulated fills now equal F, and the unfilled quantity is Q minus F.; Keeping the pending remainder preserves P and leaves that quantity eligible for later matching. It does not promise another execution.

Keeping the pending remainder preserves P and leaves that quantity eligible for later matching. It does not promise another execution.

If the reader wants to stop, cancellation instead targets the pending remainder. Assume cancellation succeeds before another fill occurs. The final record shows a canceled order with accumulated fills of F, and the completed purchase remains F. The reader then stops without replacing the order. If another execution occurs before cancellation finishes, the final accumulated quantity governs the purchase total.

Rejected inputs and uncertain submission

A rejected order and an accepted order awaiting a match require different responses. Rejection calls for reading the reported error and correcting the relevant input or balance requirement. A pending order already exists and can still execute. Submitting again without distinguishing those states can create an additional instruction.

Rejected inputs and uncertain submission: A missing acknowledgment does not establish rejection. Preserve any order identifier and inspect the corresponding account records before repeating the submission.; Deepcoin documents a possible brief visibility delay in REST API order queries immediately after an order fills completely, so one empty lookup is insufficient evidence that nothing happened.

The remaining decision after the first order

A filled order leaves completed trades; a confirmed cancellation ends only the outstanding instruction. Before placing another order, reconcile the final filled quantity, recorded fees, and available balance. If any remainder stays pending, decide whether you still want it to trade at the existing limit. Leaving the trading screen is not a cancellation instruction. A later sale would be a new trade with its own price and fees.

Deepcoin: frequently asked questions

Can a spot limit order execute at a better price than I entered?

A spot limit order can execute at a better price than its limit. For a purchase, better means lower; for a sale, it means higher. Your chosen price defines the acceptable boundary rather than requiring every execution to occur at exactly that price.

Does selecting Limit automatically make my first order a maker trade?

Selecting Limit does not establish the execution's maker status. A limit order can match available liquidity immediately. The execution record distinguishes maker and taker transactions, so use that recorded classification when checking the fee charged for a fill.

What causes a valid-looking quantity to fail an order-size check?

A quantity can meet the minimum size while violating the market's permitted size increment or maximum limit-order size. Decimal formatting alone does not establish validity. The selected spot market's product settings determine the applicable requirements.

How can I distinguish repeated fills from a duplicate order?

Compare the order identifiers attached to the executions. Multiple trade records sharing one order identifier can represent separate fills of the same instruction. Different order identifiers indicate separate orders, even when their market, direction, price, and quantity match.

Is the latest fill price the same as my average purchase price?

The latest fill price describes the most recent execution, while the average fill price summarizes the order's executions. They can differ when fills occur at different prices. Keep the fee and its currency separate when calculating the total balance impact.
